Hilarie Burton

After One Tree Hill, Burton appeared in films such as Our Very Own, Solstice, and The List, and took on recurring roles in hit TV series including Sara Ellis on White Collar (2010–2013), Dr. Lauren Boswell on Grey's Anatomy (2013), Molly Dawes on Forever (2014), and Karen Palmer on Lethal Weapon (2016). She lives with her husband, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and their two children on a 100-acre farm in Rhinebeck, New York, where they raise cows, ducks, chickens, alpacas, donkeys, and an emu. Since 2014, they have co-owned Samuel's Sweet Shop, a Rhinebeck candy store they saved from closure, alongside actor Paul Rudd.

Burton started acting at 15 and pursued formal training at New York University, but an MTV opportunity changed her path. Despite not being allowed to watch MTV as a kid, she won a guest spot on the red carpet and impressed enough to land a full-time job. In 2002, she made her television debut appearing as herself on Dawson's Creek. She has been married to Morgan since 2019, and the couple has been open about their fertility journey, sharing that it took five years to carry their second child. Off-screen, Burton is a business owner and author, balancing her creative work with farm life in the Hudson Valley.
