Heather Keisha Hunter, nicknamed "Double H," is an American rapper, painter, author, and former adult film actress. Born October 1, 1969, in The Bronx, New York, she is often regarded as porn's first African-American superstar. Raised by a funeral salesman, she left home at 16 and worked as a clerk at the Latin Quarter nightclub. There she met actress Hyapatia Lee, which led to her adult film debut in Heather Hunter on Fire in 1988, at age 18.
Hunter starred in about 70 titles, known for interracial and lesbian-themed films. She became the first African-American Vivid Entertainment contract girl, retiring in 2004. Her career extended beyond adult film. She danced on Soul Train from 1990 to 1992 and appeared in mainstream projects like Frankenhooker (1990) and Tupac Shakur's "How Do U Want It" video (1996). Transitioning to music, she released the rap album Double H: The Unexpected in 2005, with producers DJ Premier and Scott Storch. She also pursued painting, majoring in design at New York's High School of Fashion Industries, and opened the Artcore-NYC gallery in 2006. In 2007, she authored the semi-autobiographical novel Insatiable: The Rise of a Porn Star.
Hunter has been inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame (2003), the Urban X Hall of Fame (2008), and the XRCO Hall of Fame (2022).
