Hannah Fry

Standing 6'0" tall with red hair and blue eyes, Hannah Fry is a British mathematician who has become one of the most recognizable faces in science communication. Born in Harlow, Essex, she now works as a professor, author, podcaster, and presenter. She holds the title of Professor of the Public Understanding of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and is also a fellow of Queens' College, Cambridge. Previously, she taught at University College London.

Fry is known for making mathematics accessible and entertaining, often with a playful demeanor. She has written books, hosted television and radio programs, and built a large following on Instagram, where she has 2.2 million followers. Beyond her academic and media career, Fry has been open about her health journey; at age 36, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer and underwent a radical hysterectomy, a procedure that removes the uterus, cervix, and surrounding tissues. She continues to work and communicate science with an impish grin.
