About Hana Nitsche
Hana Nitsche first caught the public eye in 2007, when she finished third on Germany's Next Top Model. That placement launched a career that has spanned editorials, runways, commercial campaigns, and television appearances across Europe and the US. She had already won the Model of the World Germany competition in 2005, and her runway work has included fashion shows for Unrath & Strano, Mango, Allude, Guido Maria Kretschmer, and Lena Hoschek. Nitsche has been photographed for covers and editorials in Harper's Bazaar Arabia, Elle Turkey, Maxim Germany and US, Glamour, FHM Germany, France, and Netherlands, Cosmopolitan Cyprus, Women's Health US, Spoil Me Greece, and GQ Italy. Her commercial work includes campaigns for Anson's, C&A, Karstadt, Volvo, Opel, Herbal Essences, and Esprit, as well as a US television commercial for the department store Lord & Taylor.
She has also appeared in music videos for Marquess, Barış Akarsu, Michael Mind, and Max Mutzke, and had a supporting role in the 2009 film Men's Hearts. In 2011, she posed naked for PETA's anti-fur campaign, photographed with Swedish model Marcus Schenkenberg for a Camp David campaign. She walked the catwalk for Stephan Pelger at Fashion Week Berlin in 2011. Maxim featured her on the cover of their October 2016 issue and ranked her number one on the Hot 100. In January 2017, she competed on the RTL singing show It Takes 2. Since June 2020, she has been the patron of the Health Center Jattaba in Gambia.
Born in Jeseník, Czech Republic, on Friday the 13th of December 1985, Nitsche is German and has been active in modeling since 2005. She has been married to Chris Welch, and the couple welcomed a daughter in August 2018. They now live in California. Nitsche stands 5'9" with a slim build, brown hair, and blue eyes.
