About Gillian Jacobs
Gillian Jacobs was born on October 19, 1982, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the only child of Martina Magenau and William Francis Jacobs Jr. Her parents divorced when she was two, and she was raised by her mother in Mt. Lebanon. Her grandfather was president of Erie Brewing Company until it closed in 1978. She began acting at four, took weekend classes at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, and performed with the Pittsburgh Public Theater, where she was cast as Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream. After graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School in 2000, she studied at Juilliard, graduating with a BFA in 2004.
She is best known for playing Britta Perry on Community (2009–2015), Mickey Dobbs on Love (2016–2018), and Mary Jayne Gold on Transatlantic (2023). Her other television roles include Mimi-Rose Howard on Girls, Atom Eve on Invincible, and Tiffany Jerimovich on The Bear. She has appeared in films such as Gardens of the Night, Don't Think Twice, Ibiza, I Used to Go Here, and the Fear Street trilogy. She also voiced Sta'abi in Monsters vs. Aliens and directed the documentary short The Queen of Code about Grace Hopper. In 2021, she co-hosted the podcast Periodic Talks with Diona Reasonover.
Jacobs is a straight American actress of Caucasian ethnicity. She stands 5'3" and has a slim build with blonde hair and blue eyes. She has no tattoos and only earlobe piercings.
