She first appeared on British television in 2004, and her breakout came playing Alison Simmons in the BBC school drama series Grange Hill from 2005 to 2008. In 2010 she joined ITV soap opera Coronation Street as Katy Armstrong, a role she played until 2015. That same year, she finished as runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC celebrity talent show, and ranked 98th in FHM's Sexiest Women of 2015.
Foote has taken on diverse roles across television. She has portrayed two different murder victims: Angela Fairley in the psychological thriller Conviction and Charley Witham in Life on Mars. Her other credits include Rosie in Sorted, Katy Barnes in Doctors, Jennifer Thurber in Casualty, Julie Tinnis Wood in Heartbeat, Bryony in Emmerdale, and Gemma in This Is England 86. She also played Lauren in the short film Cotton Stones. She made a guest appearance in Coronation Street as Jess Burrows before being reintroduced as a regular character later that same year.
Educated at Elton High School then Bury College, Foote has an older sister named Katie. She also appeared in two domestic abuse television adverts. After leaving Coronation Street in 2015, she left the show to pursue other acting roles, interests, projects, and her modelling career.
