Genesis Carmona

Venezuelan model and beauty pageant contestant Genesis Carmona was born in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela, on September 20, 1991. She began her career in fashion at local events like Venezuela Moda and Fashion Week Valencia. In 2010, she was a pre-candidate for Miss Venezuela 2010, though she did not qualify. Three years later, she entered a regional contest for her home state and won, becoming 2013 Miss Turismo Carabobo. Carmona also balanced her modeling work with college studies.

Tragically, her life was cut short on February 19, 2014, at age 22, when she was killed during the 2014 Venezuelan protests. She died while demonstrating against the government of Nicolás Maduro. In the aftermath, she became a symbol of protest against his administration. Her death drew widespread attention, and her memory remains tied to the demonstrations that swept the country.
