Fernanda Machado

Fernanda Machado began her on-screen career in 2004, playing Sonya in Rede Globo's telenovela Começar de Novo. A year later she appeared as Dalila in Alma Gêmea, and in 2007 she took the role of Joana in Paraíso Tropical, winning the 2007 best supporting actress award from TV Globo. Her work as Laís in the 2009 telenovela Caras & Bocas, written by Walcyr Carrasco, came after she had already worked with him in Alma Gêmea.

In 2008, Fernanda starred as Maria in Tropa de Elite, a film that won the Berlin Film Festival. She later joined the cast of Insensato Coração in 2011, playing Luciana, a character killed in a plane crash on January 25, 2011. In 2013 she played the villain Leila in Amor à Vida. After wrapping filming of A Menina Índigo in 2016, she decided to take a career break to focus on motherhood.

Born in Maringá, Parana, Brazil, she is American and of Mixed-race (primarily Latin) background. She stands 5'6" with a slim build and natural 34C breasts. Brown hair and brown eyes complete her look. Fernanda has no tattoos or piercings. After moving to California, she became a yoga teacher at a gym. Married with two children, she has been active in her new path since leaving acting behind.
