About Eve Miller
Brunette leading lady, Eve Miller was on screen from 1945 to 1961. Before acting, she worked as a welder in a shipyard, then as a department store clerk. She entered show business with the Follies Bergere in San Francisco, then at Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe. In 1945, 20th Century Fox signed her, and she was mentored by Ida Lupino, who helped her get a co-starring role opposite Kirk Douglas in The Big Trees (1952). At Warner Brothers, she had second leads in The Winning Team (1952) and April in Paris (1952), and later appeared as a guest in episodic television, mainly in anthology drama.
Miller's personal life was marked by tragedy. On 21 July 1955, after her fiancé, a Universal bit player, said he wouldn't marry her until financially secure, she attempted suicide by stabbing herself in the abdomen. She was 50 when she took her own life on 17 August 1973, just after her birthday.
