About Emma Lawson
With a strong, muscular build and a confident presence, Emma Lawson looks every bit the elite CrossFit competitor she has become. At 5'4" and 140 lbs, she carries power that belies her 21 years, a physique built through years of intense training and a background in competitive dance and acro. Her brown eyes and brown hair frame a face that has become familiar to CrossFit fans worldwide.
Emma is a Canadian athlete from Cambridge, Ontario, and she first competed at the CrossFit Games in 2019, taking third in the Girls 14-15 division. In 2021, she won the Fittest Teen on Earth title. A year later, at 17, she became the youngest individual competitor at the Games, finishing sixth and earning Rookie of the Year honors. Her peak came in 2023 when she placed second overall, wearing the leader's jersey for much of the competition.
She has been involved in CrossFit since age seven, coming from a family that shares her passion. Since 2025, she has trained with Brute Strength while based in Ontario. Emma also runs her own YouTube channel and, in late 2024, launched her podcast, Strong Girl Style, which she produces and publishes entirely on her own. The podcast is her passion project to share personal lessons with females in sport. A bulging disc at L5 with a pinched nerve sidelined her for much of the 2025 season, but she returned in 2026 and has qualified for the CrossFit Games once again. Her notable lifts include a 240 lb clean and jerk, 192 lb snatch, 345 lb deadlift, and 315 lb back squat.
