About Emiru
American content creator Emiru, born Emily Beth Schunk on January 3, 1998, in Wichita, Kansas, has built a decade-long career in streaming and cosplay. She started on Twitch in late 2015 while still in high school, focusing on League of Legends gameplay after a friend suggested she stream. That early connection to the game defined her early years, leading to a role as a content creator for esports organization Cloud9 in 2020. In January 2022, she joined One True King, a gaming organization she now co-owns. Her move to One True King marked a shift from League of Legends to variety streaming, a change that accompanied her rise to over two million followers on the platform.
Her work has earned multiple nominations, including Best League of Legends Streamer at the 2021 Streamer Awards, Breakout Streamer at the 12th Streamy Awards, and Streamer of the Year at both the 13th Streamy Awards and the 2024 Streamer Awards. In February 2023, she launched the Steak & Eggs Podcast with One True King members Asmongold and Tectone. She also hosts a weekly podcast. Beyond streaming, Emiru is a prolific cosplayer, often sharing her creations with her 1.2 million Instagram followers. She is of mixed-race background, primarily Asian, with Chinese and German descent, and identifies as bisexual.
Two public incidents have marked her career. In March 2025, during a Sis-a-thon IRL stream in Santa Monica, a man approached her and other streamers, asked for her phone number twice, and became aggressive when refused, threatening to kill them; the marathon ended early and police were contacted. In October 2025, a fan attacked her at a TwitchCon meet-and-greet, though no one was injured. Despite these events, she continues to create content. She is petite, standing 5'3" with a slim build and black hair and brown eyes. She is active across platforms, with 2.0 million TikTok followers, 1.58 million YouTube subscribers, and 2.1 million Twitch followers. She is represented by Ader Gaming since May 2022.
