Emily O'Brien

Emily O'Brien is a British mixed-race actress from Bedfordshire, England, who has built an unusually varied career across daytime soap operas, video games, and animated series. Born on Tuesday, 28th of May 1985, she began acting in 2003 and has been active for over two decades. She earned three Daytime Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Jana Hawkes Fisher on The Young and the Restless from 2006 to 2011. More recently, she has played Gwen Rizczech on Days of Our Lives, a role she took on in 2020, and since October 2023 she has also portrayed Theresa Donovan on the same show. O'Brien's voice work is equally distinctive. She voiced The Woman in the Love, Death and Robots episode The Witness, which won the Emmy for Best Animation, and she performed motion capture and voice for Eve in the season 2 episode Pop Squad. She has voiced characters in League of Legends and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, including Camille, Samira, and Y'shtola. In 2018 she joined the main cast of the animated film Dagon Troll World Chronicles, and in 2019 she voiced Amelie and young Bridget Strand in Death Stranding. Her gaming credits also include Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series and Special Agent Iman Avesta in Batman: The Enemy Within. Standing 5'6" with brown hair and brown eyes, O'Brien has maintained an average build and real, natural curves throughout her career, which began when she was around 18. Her range is rare. Few performers move so fluidly between long-running soap roles and high-profile animated projects, and her three Emmy nominations for daytime work sit alongside an Emmy-winning animated episode. She remains a working actress in both live-action and voiceover, with her dual role on Days of Our Lives marking a rare on-screen doubling in the same series.
