About Elsa Pataky
Spanish actress and model Elsa Pataky was born in Madrid, Spain, on July 18, 1976. She is of Romanian and Hungarian descent through her mother, and she adopted her mother's maiden name as her professional surname. Pataky studied journalism at Universidad CEU San Pablo while also taking acting classes, but she left school when she was cast in the television series Al salir de clase. She began her career in 1997 and has been active for nearly three decades.
Pataky built an international career spanning Spanish, French, and English-language productions. She appeared in over ten Spanish films, co-starred in the French film Iznogoud (2004), and was part of the cast of the television series Queen of Swords (2000) and Los Serrano. In 2006, she graced the cover of Maxim magazine. She later played Officer Elena Neves in the Fast & Furious franchise, appearing in Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Furious 7 (2015), and The Fate of the Furious (2017). Pataky also performed in the action noir film Give 'Em Hell, Malone and Dario Argento's Giallo. She was named one of the Breakout Stars to Watch for in 2011 by MTV Networks' NextMovie.com.
In 2012, Pataky won €310,000 in Spain's supreme court against publishing group Ediciones Zeta. The case stemmed from topless photos published by Interviu magazine in 2007, taken with a long lens while she was changing during a photoshoot for Elle. Pataky married Australian actor Chris Hemsworth in 2010, and she is fluent in English, Romanian, Italian, Portuguese, and French alongside her native Spanish.
