About Ellen Jabour
Ellen Jabour's career began with a beauty contest at a world surfing championship in 1991, when she was thirteen. A fashion producer spotted her, and she was chosen as "Alternative Girl". That discovery led to a contract with Ford Models and a life split between London, New York, and Tokyo, working as a model.
By 1995, Ellen had moved into music videos, appearing in "Sou como um rio" by the Portuguese group Delfins, filmed in Rio de Janeiro, and later in "How You Are Gonna See Me Now" by the rock band Easy Rider. Television came next, starting with Revista Celebridades on Multishow, which earned her a contract with Rede Globo. From 2006 to 2008 she was a reporter on Vídeo Show, and she also appeared in the first chapter of Cobras & Lagartos, playing herself, before taking on the role of Suzi in the miniseries Poeira em Alto Mar. In September 2008, Ellen began presenting Olha Você on SBT alongside Alexandre Bacci, Claudete Troiano, and Francesco Tarallo. A year later, in 2009, she signed with Fashion TV Brasil to present Estilo Brasil and covered Fashion Rio. In 2011, she joined MTV Brasil as a VJ, debuting with Top 10 MTV before moving to Luv MTV in September of that year.
Ellen's career has not been without controversy. In 2004, her name surfaced in Operation Vampire, an investigation into fraud and bribery at the Ministry of Health. Her father, lobbyist Jaisler Jabour de Alvarenga, was charged with forming a gang, bidding fraud, active corruption, and money laundering. Ellen, listed as her father's partner in the company ITCLab alongside her sister Kelly, signed checks worth one million reais and was called to clarify her involvement. Neither she nor her sister were among the 33 people accused by the Attorney General's Office. Ellen is Brazilian and of mixed-race, primarily Middle Eastern, descent. She stands 5'10" with a slim build, natural breasts, and brown hair and eyes. As of March 2024, she had 137,000 Instagram followers and 15,000 YouTube subscribers, with her Instagram following now at 140k.
