From 2006 to 2009 she was Provincial Councillor for Education under Matteo Renzi, and from 2009 to 2013 she held the role of Provincial Councillor for Labor under Andrea Barducci.
In February 2013, Simoni was elected to the Italian Parliament with the Democratic Party. After her term ended in 2018, she transitioned to the private sector, becoming Head of Communications and Public Relations for a large multinational company.
