About Elena Apostoleanu
Elena Apostoleanu, known professionally as Inna, is a Romanian singer from Mangalia, Constanța, Romania. She studied political science at Ovidius University before meeting the trio Play & Win and shifting to music. In 2008 she first performed as Alessandra, then rebranded as Inna and found global success with the single "Hot." That debut track topped charts in Romania and Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay. Her debut album, also named Hot, arrived in August 2009 and earned Gold and Platinum certifications. Inna followed with the 2011 album I Am the Club Rocker, whose single "Sun Is Up" won the Eurodanceweb Award, making her the first Romanian to take that prize. By 2011 she was reported to be the highest-paid Romanian and Eastern European artist.
Her third album, Party Never Ends (2013), earned consecutive Best Album nominations at the Romanian Music Awards and charted in Mexico's top ten. In 2014, Inna signed with Atlantic Records and released "Cola Song" with J Balvin, tied to that year's FIFA World Cup. Her eponymous 2015 album included "Diggy Down," her third Romanian number one. Starting in 2017, she coached on Vocea României Junior. Later projects include the 2017 album Nirvana, a Roc Nation deal in 2018, and the Spanish-language Yo in 2019. In 2020 she released Heartbreaker, and 2022 brought Champagne Problems as a two-part release. Her music has sold over four million albums worldwide, making her Romania's best-selling artist.
Inna also performs as a YouTuber, with over 8.23 million subscribers on her platform and 3.4 million Instagram followers as of August 2025. She has partnered with several brands and remains active in the industry.
