Divya Spandana

Born on Monday 29th of November 1982, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, she identifies as straight and has been active in her careers since 2003. Divya primarily works in Kannada and Tamil language films, though she has also appeared in Telugu cinema. Her acting debut came in the 2003 Kannada film Abhi. She has received two Filmfare Awards South, an Udaya Award, and a Karnataka State Film Award. Her performances in Amrithadhare (2005) and Tananam Tananam (2006) earned her the Udaya Award and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress respectively. She gained further critical success for her role in the 2011 romantic drama Sanju Weds Geetha, which won her a Karnataka State Film Award. Divya also starred in the blockbuster fantasy Katari Veera Surasundarangi and the 2016 epic-fantasy Nagarahavu. After a hiatus, she returned to the industry as a producer with Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye (2023) under the AppleBox Studios banner.

In 2012, she joined the Indian National Congress as a member of its youth wing. She won a 2013 by-election to become a Member of Parliament for Mandya, though she lost the general election the following year.
