Biography
About Dinah Jane Hansen
With a tall, athletic frame and a pair of warm brown eyes, Dinah Jane Hansen has a presence that shifts easily between pop star and screen performer. The 29-year-old singer and actress first became known as the youngest member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, which came together on the second season of The X Factor. At just 14, she auditioned with Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy," earning praise from judge L.A. Reid for her vocal interpretation. The group finished third, but quickly signed a joint record deal with Syco Music and Epic Records in early 2013.
Dinah spent several years touring and recording with Fifth Harmony, sharing stages with bandmates Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, and Normani. In 2018, she and the band parted ways to pursue solo careers. Since then, she has expanded into multiple creative fields, working as a director, influencer, and YouTuber while maintaining an active music career. Her Instagram following has grown to over 7 million, and she also commands hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok and YouTube.
Music runs in her family. Her mother sang in a reggae band, and her brothers performed in church. Now based in the United States, she continues to blend her mixed-race heritage and American upbringing into her art, whether she's releasing new tracks, directing projects, or connecting with fans online. With 15 years in the industry, she has built a name for herself beyond the group that launched her. She's a natural performer, and her evolving career proves she's more than just a former girl group star.
