Dariya Derkach

Dariya Derkach, born on Saturday 27th of March 1993 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, has carried the triple jump torch for Italy at two Olympic Games. In 2020, she competed for Italy in the women's triple jump at the Tokyo Olympics, and she repeated the feat at the 2024 Paris Games. Her family moved to Italy in 2002, and she became an Italian citizen in 2013, growing up in Pagani near Salerno.

Athletics runs in her blood. Her father, Serhiy Derkach, a former decathlete, has been her lifelong coach, and her mother, Oksana Derkach, was a triple jumper herself. Since 2014, she has trained at Formia, one of Italy's premier athletics centers. As a junior, she ranked among Europe's top prospects, posting personal bests of 13.56 m in the triple jump and 6.55 m in the long jump. Over her career, she has represented Italy at the World Championships and European Championships, alongside her Olympic appearances.

Now 33, Dariya is a 19-year veteran of the sport, starting her career at around 14 years old in 2007. She stands at 5'7" with blonde hair and blue eyes, and her athletic build is natural, a fitting physique for a sportswoman. She's active on Instagram, where she shares updates with her 51k followers.
