Edited by the community

With her striking dark hair and bold stage presence, Danielle Stampe is an actress, burlesque dancer, and fashion designer with a career spanning music, sideshow, and fine art. Born in San Diego, California, in 1967, she grew up in a military family, moving often due to her father's service as a Navy fighter pilot. Her mother was a paralegal. She spent formative years in Athens, Greece, and traveled across Germany and the United States, developing a lifelong love of travel. Her grandparents, who lived in California, were also influential; her grandmother, who lived to 98, remained fiercely independent, a quality Stampe admires and shares.
