Biography
About Cynthia Klitbo
Cynthia Klitbo is an actress and glamour model. Born on March 11, 1967, in Zacatecas, Mexico, she is of mixed-race primarily Latin ethnicity. She launched her television career in 1987 and quickly became a familiar face in Mexican telenovelas. Her early work includes roles in "Como Duele Callar," "Amor en Silencio," "Mi Segunda Madre," "Yo Compro Esa Mujer," and "Cadenas de Amargura." After a brief break in the mid-1990s, she returned to prominence with "La Dueña." Her performances in "Alguna Vez Tendremos Alas," "El Privilegio de Amar," and "La Casa en la Playa" solidified her reputation as one of the most recognized actresses of her generation.
Though she has played protagonists, she is best known for her villainous roles. Her portrayal of the envious and psychotic Laura in "La Dueña" opposite Angelica Rivera is a standout. In "El Privilegio de Amar," she played Tamara, a part that won her a Premios TVyNovelas for best antagonist. For that role, she shaved her head to convey her character's emotional collapse, a dramatic act that remains memorable. In 2005, she tried her hand at directing the telenovela "Alborada," but creative conflicts led her to leave production after a few days. That same year, she joined the reality show "Bailando por un sueño."
Her personal life has seen significant moments too. On August 1, 2006, she gave birth to a daughter, Elisa Fernanda, via caesarian section. She married sculptor David Gerstein in a civil ceremony on September 29, 2012, with a religious ceremony following in February 2013. She currently resides in Mexico City. With over four decades in the industry, she has built a career marked by versatility and daring choices.
