She attended Kansas State University, where she earned a degree in radio and television broadcasting. Before her modeling career took off, she worked as a Bunny at the Kansas City Playboy Club. She was also a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall and holds a pilot's license.
Crystal is best known as Playboy's Playmate of the Month for September 1971. She appeared as a centerfold and later became a two-time cover girl. She also anchored the Sexcetera news program on the Playboy Channel during its first eight years and hosted The Playboy Shopping Show with Blake Emmons in 1986.
