About Connie Kreski
Connie Kreski, born September 19, 1946, in Wyandotte, Michigan, was an American model and actress whose face graced Playboy's pages in the late 1960s. She was named Playboy Playmate of the Month for January 1968 and went on to become Playmate of the Year in 1969. Standing 5'5" with blonde hair and blue eyes, she had a slim build and a natural 34B bust. Kreski, whose birth name was Constance Joanna Kornacki, pursued a career that took her beyond modeling into film and later styling work for Playboy.
Her Playmate biography captured her adventurous spirit: "I want to get out into the world and see and do everything I possibly can." That drive led her to travel, with London among her favorite destinations. A portion of her Playmate fee financed a trip there, where a chance elevator encounter with actor Anthony Newley at the Playboy Club building on Park Lane changed her trajectory. Newley cast her as the titular Mercy in his film "Can Hieronymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?," which also starred his then-wife Joan Collins. She later appeared in "Black Bird," a spoof of "The Maltese Falcon."
She continued her association with Playboy by working as a stylist, and in "The Playmate Book," she can be seen giving a touch-up to Miss June 1981, Cathy Larmouth, during a shooting session. In 1972, she posed with James Caan in a Playboy fashion feature titled "So It's a Bracelet, What's It to Ya?" about men's jewelry; the two dated for a time afterward. Eventually, she settled down with Louis A. Edelman. Connie died on March 21, 1995, at her Beverly Hills home from a blocked carotid artery at age 48.
