China Anne McClain

American actress and musician China Anne McClain was born on Tuesday 25th of August 1998 in Decatur, Georgia, United States. She is 27 years old and has been active in the entertainment industry since 2005, with over 21 years of experience. China comes from an artistic family: her father, Michael McClain, is a music producer, vocalist, writer, and sound engineer, while her mother, Shontell, is a vocalist and songwriter. China and her sisters, Sierra and Lauryn, formed a singing group called "3mcclaingirls," and they have completed their first song, "Silly Games," produced by Gabesworld Music and co-produced by Larry Nix, with writing and co-production by her mother. The family's music production company, GabesWorld Music, is named after her younger brother, Gabriel, who also acts, sings, and dances. China's path to acting began when a family friend, Ian Burke, heard her perform a song from Spy Kids 2 during dinner. He recommended her to director Rob Hardy, who was seeking a young girl who could sing and act for his film The Gospel. After her first audition, China was chosen to play the character Alexis. Her sisters also appeared in the Children's Gospel Choir scene of the movie. Since then, China has continued to audition for casting directors in Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, and California. She appears in a park scene with a dog and in an after-school scene in Madea's Family Reunion, and she was interviewed by Jacque Reid on BET at The Gospel premiere. China is an active member of the Screen Actors Guild. She enjoys the time she spends in hair and make-up on set. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, drawing greeting cards, going to church with her family, memorizing Disney movie lines, and hula-hooping. She dreams of writing and directing her own films and performing on the road with her sisters.
