About Cheyenne Silver

Edited by the community

Cheyenne Silver is a former adult film star and actress whose career in the industry spanned from the late 1990s into the early 2000s. Born Cara Fawn Ballou on July 18, 1978, in San Clemente, California, she grew up in a middle-class family with French, Irish, Choctaw, and Cherokee roots. Her father was a forest ranger, and she spent much of her childhood outdoors, developing a love for hiking, camping, fishing, and horseback riding. At age 18, she had a daughter, and after graduating high school, she moved to Las Vegas to work as an exotic dancer under the stage name Wildcat, a reference to her wilderness upbringing.

She entered the adult film industry in 1997, initially performing as Wildcat, before adopting the name Cheyenne Silver in 2000, a nod to her Native American heritage. In 1999, she signed with Vivid Entertainment as a contract performer, known as a Vivid Girl, and appeared in over 70 adult films, including No Man's Land (1999), Fever (2000), Secrets of the Flesh (2000), and California Cocksuckers (2000). Her performances included solo, lesbian, and heterosexual scenes, and she was recognized for her innocent charm and exotic beauty. She was named Penthouse Pet of the Month in December 2001 and appeared on The Howard Stern Radio Show three times, The Man Show, Wild On!, and Shipmates, as well as in the N.E.R.D. music video "Lapdance" (2001). She received multiple award nominations, including a 2000 XRCO Award for Best Group Scene, a 2000 AVN Award for Best All-Girl Sex Scene, and a 2000 Hot d'Or for Best New American Starlet, though she did not win those particular awards.

Silver was inducted into both the AVN Hall of Fame in 2013 and the NightMoves Hall of Fame in 2006 (Editor's Choice). She also won an AVN Award in 2001 for Best Supporting Actress—Film for Artemesia. Her biography notes a serious car accident in December 2005 that caused severe skull fractures, a fractured neck, a broken eye socket, and brain bleeding, requiring emergency surgery. She recovered and later transitioned to mainstream acting under her real name, Cara Fawn. She was married to Josh Ray from 2005 to 2010, and they had a son and a daughter. As of 2025, Silver, now 47, lives privately in San Diego, with no active social media presence beyond sporadic Twitter activity. Physically, she stands at 5'8", weighs 137 lbs, has brown hair, blue eyes, a slim build, and a 34–26–35 figure with enhanced breasts. Her eye color in some sources is listed as hazel, but her official specs state blue.
