Biography
About Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler's brand of humor is unmistakable: bold, unfiltered, and delivered with sharp wit. The 51-year-old American entertainer, born in Livingston, New Jersey, has spent over 25 years building a career that spans stand-up, television, writing, and digital media. She moved to Los Angeles at 19 to pursue acting, but stand-up comedy soon became her true calling. Handler rose to fame as the host of the late-night talk show Chelsea Lately on E! from 2007 to 2014, a series known for its celebrity interviews and irreverent commentary. She has also authored several New York Times bestselling books, including My Horizontal Life and Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea, and has starred in or produced Netflix projects such as the documentary series Chelsea Does and her talk show Chelsea.
Beyond the screen and page, Handler has remained a prominent figure in stand-up comedy, launching a Las Vegas residency in 2025. Her audience extends across social media, where she has amassed 5.5 million followers on Instagram, 1.4 million on TikTok, and 341,000 on YouTube. She is also known for her activism and public appearances. In 2009, she won a Bravo A-List Award and posed for Playboy's December issue. With her natural 36C bust and blue eyes, she presents a recognizable image, but it's her quick tongue and willingness to tackle any topic that have kept her in the spotlight for decades. She remains a multifaceted creator, equally at home on stage, in front of a camera, or behind a keyboard.
