Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr, known to the world as Charlotte Flair, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 5, 1986. She is the daughter of wrestling legend Ric Flair, and her path to the ring was shaped by an athletic upbringing. At Providence High School, she won two NCHSAA 4-A State championships for volleyball and was named team captain and player of the year in 2004–2005. She continued playing volleyball at Appalachian State University before transferring to North Carolina State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in public relations in Spring 2008. She also became a certified personal trainer prior to becoming a wrestler.
Charlotte Flair started her professional wrestling career in 2012, and she quickly rose through the ranks.
