Chanmina

With jet-black hair, brown eyes, and a petite 5'3" frame, Chanmina's stage presence is unmistakable. She is a South Korean-Japanese rapper and pop musician who first broke out in 2016 as an independent artist before releasing her major-label debut album Miseinen in 2017. Born in Seoul to a Japanese father and a Korean mother, she lived in Korea until age three. Her mother, a professional ballerina, sparked an early love for ballet and violin, and the family's travels across Korea, Japan, and the U.S. shaped her multicultural identity. Chanmina is trilingual, fluent in Korean, Japanese, and English. On July 7, 2024, she announced her pregnancy and marriage to Korean rapper Ash Island, and on November 1, she gave birth to a baby girl. With 2.4 million Instagram followers, she continues to balance a decade-long music career with new motherhood.
