About Cecilia Pampinella
Blonde and athletic, Cecilia Pampinella is a 19-year-old Italian professional stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) athlete. Born in 2006 in Civitavecchia, Lazio, she has been active in the sport since 2018, when she was just 12 years old. She took up SUP inspired by her brother Tommaso, quickly shifting from beach volleyball to focus on paddling. Her rise has been rapid; she is now a multiple-time World Champion, with at least six titles across ISA and ICF competitions, spanning both junior and open categories. In 2022, she won gold in sprint, technical, and distance at the ISA World Championships, and she has continued to dominate junior events while also racking up wins in elite women's races. Recent victories include tech races in the European SUP League in 2026. Known for her strength and versatility, she excels in sprint, technical, and distance events, though she prefers longer downwind racing. She often trains solo along the coast near Rome and has been part of the prestigious Starboard Dream Team since around 2024. She competes for the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation.
Beyond paddling, Cecilia is a military athlete in the Aeronautica Militare (Italian Air Force).
