About Catherine Bach
Catherine Bach is best known for playing Daisy Duke in the 1979-85 CBS series The Dukes of Hazzard. American by nationality, she was born in Warren, Ohio, on March 1, 1954, and grew up on a ranch in South Dakota. After graduating from Stevens High School in Rapid City, she studied drama at UCLA, where she made clothes for friends and theatre groups to supplement her income.
Her first screen appearance was as Natalie Claiburn, a murdered coed, in the 1974 film The Midnight Man. That same year she played Melody in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. In 1985, she served as the model for the figurehead of the schooner Californian. At one time, her legs were insured for $1,000,000. In 2002, she launched a line of diamond jewelry at Debenhams.
She reprised Daisy Duke in voice for the video game The Dukes of Hazzard: Return of the General Lee (2004) and in two CBS-TV movies: Reunion! (1997) and Hazzard in Hollywood (2000). She also maintains her own official website partially dedicated to the series. With over five decades in the business, she remains an American pop culture figure.
