Carla Bonner

Bonner's early acting experience was limited to television commercials, corporate videos, and bit parts, including a guest role on Raw FM. She attended the Australian College of the Arts. After eleven years on Neighbours, she quit in 2010, but the character was not killed off, leaving the door open for her return. In 2012, she wrote and published a dating book for men called Hook, Line and Sink Her, and she later teamed up with Gary O'Toole to develop a television series based on it. In 2013, she briefly returned to Neighbours and also guest-starred in an episode of Wentworth. She appeared in the ABC3 teen drama Ready for This in 2015, and later that year she returned to Neighbours as a permanent cast member. She stayed until May 2018, and briefly reprised the role in July 2022. She also filmed a role in the ABC Comedy series Superwog.

In her personal life, Bonner lives in Perth, Western Australia. She has two sons, Harley Bonner and Jhye. Harley followed in her footsteps and joined the cast of Neighbours in 2013, playing Josh Willis. She is good friends with Kym Valentine, who played Libby Kennedy on the show, and their characters were best friends too. In 2007, she was involved in a car accident and was charged with unlicensed driving among other offences, later convicted and fined $1,000. She also appeared as a guest on Celebrity Big Brother Australia in 2002.
