Edited by the community

Bluegrass and folk singer/songwriter and banjo player Brenna MacMillan brings a smooth blend of traditional and contemporary sounds to her music. Born on the 27th of June 1995 in Lexington, Kentucky, she grew up in Winchester, Kentucky. She started singing and performing early in life, appearing with family, church groups, local bands, talent shows, and festivals. Frequent gigs in the Lexington area led to opening for bluegrass legends J.D. Crowe and Bobby Osborne. She attended Berea College, where she played with the school's Bluegrass Ensemble. In 2018, she won the Red Foley Memorial Music Award. That same year, she graduated with a degree in Chemistry, concentration in Biochemistry, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

Alongside her brother Theo, Brenna played in a bluegrass band, recording two albums and touring for several years. In late 2022, they mutually decided to each pursue a solo career. In early spring 2024, she left her day job of almost six years as a chemist to focus on music full time. She released her debut solo album "Dear Life" in October 2024.

American and Caucasian, she has blonde hair and grey eyes. Her slim build and natural breasts are part of her look, and she has various tattoos. Her Instagram following has grown to 112k. Today she continues to write and perform, blending her bluegrass roots with her own folk style.
