How We Organize Profiles

With well over a hundred thousand profile pages, the hard problem for a directory like this isn't collecting data, it's making that data findable. Here's how the browsing structure actually works under the hood.

Every profile is indexed against a small set of attributes: profession, nationality, body type, hair color, ethnicity, and a couple of others. Each attribute value gets its own browse page, and every profile links back into those pages from its specs table. That's the backbone of the site's navigation, and it's also what powers the "More Profiles" section you'll see at the bottom of most pages, which surfaces other profiles sharing the closest combination of attributes rather than just one.

Not every profile has the same amount of source material. Some have a detailed original biography to draw from; many have only a handful of structured facts. Rather than writing a padded, generic paragraph for the thin profiles, or listing hundreds of near-empty pages as fully searchable content, the site sorts profiles into a few honesty tiers: profiles with enough real material get a full written biography, profiles with a little data get a plain facts summary, and the very thinnest profiles stay browsable on the site but are kept out of search results entirely. We'd rather show less than pad a page with filler.

The goal is a directory that's actually easier to browse than the sites it draws from, not just a reformatted copy of the same information.
