Belle Bennett

With a sweep of red hair and calm green eyes, Belle Bennett had the kind of face that felt both classic and steady. An American actress, she moved through silent and early sound cinema with an average build and a natural presence. She was born in Milaca, Minnesota, and began her screen career in 1913, when she was around 22 years old.

Over the next 19 years, she worked steadily, with credits spanning 1913 to 1932. Her career ended with her death in 1932, just days after her 41st birthday. She was straight and worked in an era when actresses often faced strict typecasting. Today her work survives as part of early Hollywood history.
