About Annie Lennox
With blue eyes and a tall, slim frame standing at 5'9", Annie Lennox cuts a striking figure. She is a Scottish singer-songwriter, activist, and musician, born in Aberdeen City, Scotland on Saturday 25th of December 1954. Her career spans from 1976 to the present, over 50 years of active work. After moderate success in the late 1970s with the Tourists, she and Dave Stewart found international fame in the 1980s as Eurythmics. The 1983 video for "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" featured her with orange cropped hair and a man's business suit, a look the BBC noted defied the male gaze. Later hits include "There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart)" and "Love Is a Stranger". She is the mother of Tali and Lola Lennox.
