Annerys Vargas

Standing tall at 6'5" with a lean 154 lb frame, Annerys Vargas cuts an imposing figure on the volleyball court. The retired Dominican player, born in Santo Domingo, spent 27 years in the sport, from 1996 to 2023. She started competing at around 14 years old, a young start that led to a long and decorated career.

Vargas represented the Dominican Republic as a professional volleyball player, competing at the highest levels. Her most notable achievement came at the Central American and Caribbean Games, where she won four consecutive gold medals. That kind of consistency is rare. Annerys Victoria Vargas Valdez, born August 7, 1981, remains a celebrated former athlete in her country.
