Anggun

In 1994, Anggun left Indonesia for England to pursue an international career. She later moved to France and released her first international album, Snow on the Sahara, in 1997. The album was released in 33 countries and sold over one million copies worldwide. Since then, she has put out six more studio albums in English and French, plus a soundtrack album for the Danish film Open Hearts. Her singles have charted on the Billboard charts in the United States and on the Billboard European Hot 100 Singles. In 2012, she represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest with "Echo (You and I)".

Beyond music, Anggun has served as a judge on various TV shows across Asia and Europe, including Asia's Got Talent, The X Factor Indonesia, The Voice Indonesia, the French Masked Singer, and the Belgian Starmaker. She has also acted in supporting roles in films like Coup de foudre à Bangkok and Levitating, and in the American series Reacher. On stage, she led the 2023 French musical Al Capone and the 2024 Italian revival of Jesus Christ Superstar. Anggun became the global ambassador for the United Nations twice, first for the International Year of Microcredit in 2005 and then for the Food and Agriculture Organization in 2009. She is one of the best-selling Asian artists outside Asia and the first Indonesian artist to succeed on European and American charts. Her honors include the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres from France, a World Music Award, an Asian Television Award, and a wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
