About Angelique Pettyjohn
Angelique Pettyjohn was born Dorothy Lee Perrins in Los Angeles, California. She began her acting career in 1967 under the name Angelique, appearing in films like The Touch of Her Flesh and The Love Rebellion. Her big break came that same year in the Elvis Presley film Clambake, where she danced as a go-go girl. She also appeared as one of the go-go dancers in the opening scene of the 1968 comedy The Odd Couple, and was a test candidate for the role of Nova in the 1968 version of Planet of the Apes; Linda Harrison got the part instead.
Pettyjohn is best remembered for her guest roles on 1960s television, including the Star Trek episode "The Gamesters of Triskelion," where she played the drill thrall Shahna. Other TV credits include Mister Terrific, The Green Hornet, Batman, Love American Style, The Girl From U.N.C.L.E., and Get Smart. In the 1970s, she worked as a burlesque star in Las Vegas, appearing in shows at the Silver Slipper, the Aladdin Hotel, and the Maxim Hotel. She was photographed by Robert Scott Hooper for the February 1979 Playboy pictorial "The Girls of Las Vegas," and later posed in her Shahna costume for posters sold at Star Trek conventions.
During the early 1980s, she appeared in a few hardcore adult films under pseudonyms like Heaven St. John and Angel St. John. She also continued acting in cult classics such as Repo Man (1984), Biohazard (1985), and The Wizard of Speed and Time (1989), for which she designed her own costumes. She died of cervical cancer on February 14, 1992, at age 48. Her body measurements were 36-24-34, and she was 5'5" tall.
