Angelique Kidjo

Angelique Kidjo, born on July 14th, 1960, in Ouidah, is a Beninese actress and musician who has built a decades-long international career. She began singing early in her homeland, and in the eighties her family relocated to Paris, a move that proved pivotal for her path.

In Paris she met French producer Jean Hebrail, whom she married in 1987. The couple has a daughter.
