Ana Kasparian

Ana Kasparian is an American journalist and media host who has spent nearly two decades in political commentary. She was born in Reseda, Los Angeles, California, in 1986, to Armenian immigrant parents. Her great-grandparents survived the Armenian genocide of 1915, a history that shaped her family's story. Raised in Reseda, she grew up speaking Armenian as her first language and entered kindergarten without knowing English. Watching Sesame Street as a child helped her learn English quickly.

Kasparian began working at The Young Turks in 2007 as a fill-in producer and eventually became the main host and producer of the online news show. She also appeared on the television version of The Young Turks that aired on Current TV, and she formerly hosted The Point on the TYT Network. In addition, she co-hosted a Jacobin YouTube show called Weekends with Ana Kasparian and Nando Vila. Over the years, her work has reached a wide audience, and she has amassed 913k followers on Instagram.

In the 2020 presidential election, Kasparian wrote in Bernie Sanders, explaining that her vote didn't matter because she lives in reliably Democratic California. In November 2015, she married Christian Lopez, a former Minor League Baseball player, model, and actor. She is 5'3" with a slim build and natural brown hair and eyes. She is straight and has no tattoos. She remains an influential voice in independent media.
