Ana was scouted at 13 while on vacation in Rio with her sister, Patricia, by an Elite Model Management representative. She won the 1996 Elite Model Look Brazil contest and placed second globally in Nice, France. At 15, she moved to New York to pursue modeling, accompanied by her mother.
