Amanda Shires

Amanda Shires, born March 5, 1982, in Lubbock, Texas, has been making music since she was a teenager. She started around age 15 and has been active for nearly three decades. Primarily known as a singer-songwriter and fiddle player, she has released seven solo albums, the most recent being Take It Like a Man in 2022. In 2019, she co-founded The Highwomen, a country supergroup with Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, and Natalie Hemby. She has also played with the Texas Playboys, Thrift Store Cowboys, and Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit. With the latter, she won a Grammy for Best Americana Album for The Nashville Sound in 2017. She has also worked as a duo with Rod Picott. Beyond music, she is an actress and YouTuber. She has amassed 179k Instagram followers and 36k YouTube subscribers.
