Alicja Bachleda

Alicja Bachleda is a Polish actress and musician with a career that spans over three decades. Born on Thursday 12th of May 1983 in Tampico, Mexico, she spent her formative years in Zakopane, Poland. Her Polish nationality and Caucasian ethnicity are central to her identity, yet her birthplace set her apart from many peers.

Bachleda's acting journey began at age 15 with a lead role in the 1999 film Pan Tadeusz, directed by Andrzej Wajda. She later appeared in the Polish soap opera Na dobre i na złe and crossed into international cinema with the German film Sommersturm. In 2007, she starred in Trade, an American thriller addressing human trafficking. She returned to Europe for The Beheaded Rooster, set in WWII Transylvania, and then played a selkie in the 2009 film Ondine. Her filmography includes the historical drama September Eleven 1683, where she played Eleanor of Austria, and The Girl Is in Trouble.

Aside from acting, Bachleda is also a musician. She studied at the Elżbieta Armatys's Theater, Music and Dance Studio in Poland, and later trained acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. She also studied Iberian and cultural studies at the Jagiellonian University, and earned a degree in art history from the University of California. She has a son, Henry, born in 2009 with actor Colin Farrell. Standing 5'6" with a slim build, hazel eyes, and natural 32B bust, she remains a distinctive presence in film.
