Alicia Bognanno

Alicia Bognanno is a musician and the guitarist and lead vocalist for the indie-rock band Bully. Born in Germany, she spent her teen years in Rosemount, Minnesota. She earned a degree from Middle Tennessee State University in audio recording before interning at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studios in Chicago. Bognanno began recording demos of her own material, then relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked as an engineer at Battle Tapes Recording and The Stone Fox venue. In 2013, she formed Bully as a trio, with her then-boyfriend Stewart Copeland on drums and bassist Reece Lazarus.

Bully released their debut album Feels Like in June 2015 to generally positive reviews. Critic Laura Snapes of Pitchfork wrote, "The coarse Cobain head-scream of Bully singer, songwriter, and guitarist Alicia Bognanno is its own resuscitating jolt of protest... she spends much of Feels Like tearing down the house with her howl." Bognanno is Caucasian, has blonde hair, and a slim build. Her Instagram following has grown to 74k, reflecting her expanding presence as a musician.
