Alexandra Petrova

With jet black hair, blue eyes, and a slim 5'11" frame, Alexandra Petrova was a striking presence in the Russian modeling world. Born in Cheboksary, Russian Federation, she first gained national attention at the age of fifteen when she entered the modeling industry. In 1996, at just sixteen, she represented Cheboksary in the Miss Russia competition held in Veliky Novgorod, and she won the title. During her reign, she was also crowned Miss Model International.

Petrova's career included work as a model and actress, and she was offered a contract with Ford Models. She declined it, because the agency would have required her to lose weight, learn English, and cut her hair short. Instead, she went on to represent Russia in the Miss Universe 1999 competition, where she was unplaced. She was straight, and her 1996-2000 active years saw her rise in the glamour modeling scene.

Tragically, her life was cut short. On 16 September 2000, two days before her twentieth birthday, Petrova was killed by a single gunshot to the head outside her apartment in Cheboksary. Her boyfriend, Konstantin Chuvilin, and his friend Radik Akhmetov were also killed in the attack. Authorities believed the shooter intended to kill Chuvilin, a crime boss, and that Petrova was simply a witness. She never married and had no children.
