Biography
About Agnes Lum
Agnes Nalani Lum, born May 21, 1956, in Honolulu, Hawaii, is an American former gravure idol, singer, actress, and bikini model who found fame in Japan during the late 1970s. She worked from 1975 to 1983, starting her career at about 19. In Japan, fans nicknamed her "Lum-chan," a name that later sparked confusion with the fictional character Lum Invader from Urusei Yatsura. In fact, she inspired that character's name, as she was widely known when the manga debuted in 1977. To avoid mixing her up with another popular idol, Agnes Chan, the "Lum-chan" handle stuck. Many fans, however, simply called both "Agnes." Over her eight years, she posed for countless calendars, posters, and magazine spreads. Today, these items are collectibles and fetch high prices. She is petite, at 5'2", with black hair, brown eyes, and a D-cup. She is American, with Asian ethnicity.
